Our Aesthetic and Reconstructive
Plastic Surgeon
Lasers have been used for decades for a variety of medical cosmetic procedures including treatment of facial and leg veins, age spots and smoothing fine lines on the face. We utilize state-of-the-art technology to customize your treatment depending upon your skin type and hair density. Our laser hair removal systems emit a precise beam of pulsating light that passes through the skin to the hair follicle where the energy is absorbed by melanin (or pigment) that gives color to the hair shaft. The lasers’ energy is then absorbed by the pigment in the hair and transferred to the surrounding hair follicle.

New:Celluma LED

Celluma delivers multiple wavelengths of light energy. It is widely used by dermatologists and plastic surgeons. This 30 minute program can be used on the face, back, arms or legs as a stand-alone treatment or an add-on while receiving another treatment due to the flexibility of the devise.

Research has shown that Celluma light energy can:
  • * Increase collagen and elastin production
  • * Reduce erythema and inflammation
  • * Increases blood flow
  • * Kill the acne bacteria
  • * Alleviate muscle and joint pain

  • New:Tattoo Laser Removal

With the overwhelming popularity of tattoos over the last ten years, the demand for effective removal has exploded. Tattoos are created by injecting colored pigment into small deep holes made in the skin. Regardless of whether a tattoo artist or an untrained individual injects the pigment, the marks or designs are relatively permanent.

When people subsequently want their tattoos removed, most physicians today consider laser treatments one of the best methods. Our Nd:YAG is the most effective laser for tattoo removal. During treatment, pulses of light from the laser are directed onto the tattoo, breaking up the tattoo pigment. Over the next several weeks the body's macrophages remove the treated pigmented areas.

    New:Skin Tag Laser Removal

Skin tags are small flesh or slightly brown-colored tissue flaps hanging off the skin by a connecting stalk. They usually resemble moles and warts and are found almost anywhere in the body - face, back and underarms. They are medically known as acrochorda and called skin tabs or barnacles by most people. Although they are not per se dangerous, some people opted to have laser skin tag removal due to these being unsightly. Plus the excessive growths can be irritating, especially when these are located in areas where one needs to shave or are rubbed by clothing or jewelry.

This Laser Treatment is regarded to be the quickest, easiest and most effective there is. It can be completed in as fast as ten minutes without the need for repeated treatments, in most cases. Nonetheless, laser skin tag removal is definitely a way that can make individuals feel more confident about their body.

    New: Clearlift

    What is Clearlift?

ClearLift improves fine lines, wrinkles, the appearance of small veins and redness caused by vascularity. It is gentle enough to treat areas that are typically too sensitive to treat with traditional ablative lasers, such as the delicate skin around the eyes, neck, mouth and chest.

Alma's ClearLift delivers a controlled dermal wound without harming the overlying epidermis so that all stages of healing and skin repair occur under the intact epidermis.

Because ClearLift heats deep beneath the skin (up to 3mm in depth) no numbing is required prior to treatment and all skin healing happens without damaging the outer layer of skin.

    Laser Hair Removal

    Who can be treated?

The unique design of the Asclepion Diode 810 allows the laser to treat patients of all skin tones and types including African American, Asian, Indian, Hispanic, and Caucasian.

    What areas can be treated?

Laser hair removal can be performed on almost any area of the body for men and women – from small areas such as your upper lip, underarms, bikini area, chin, neck, and face, to larger areas such as arms, chest, back, and legs.

Why is laser preferred for hair removal?

Most people are great candidates. Traditional hair removal techniques, such as shaving, plucking and waxing, provide only temporary relief. Until now, the only long-lasting hair removal solution has been by electrolysis - which can be time-consuming and is usually limited to small areas, because each hair is treated individually. Laser hair removal is non-invasive, and safely removes unwanted body hair without damaging the delicate pores and structures of the skin. Facial and bikini area sessions are usually completed in under 30 minutes; legs and larger areas can take longer. One significant advantage of laser hair removal treatment is that it affects a large number of hair follicles at once resulting in quicker, more permanent results. As a general rule, several treatments will be required and you can expect to see a 50% reduction in hair growth after just one treatment. If you hate shaving, or are tired of putting up with painful waxing, tweezing or electrolysis, laser hair removal may be the best solution for you.

Will laser hair removal work for me?

The best results have been achieved on darker, coarse hair, but other factors may influence the treatment process, and are generally best evaluated and discussed in person. We offer a complimentary consultation. Depending on the amount of hair and area treated, the procedure varies from patient to patient.

Are there any restrictions on my activity after treatment?

Following the treatment, you can return to your normal activities right away, but some redness may occur. The use of sunscreen is recommended on any treated areas exposed to the sun. In addition, your physician may recommend that you use a specially formulated skin care product line or prescribe a skin care regimen especially formulated for your skin type.

What precautions should be taken before and after treatment?

You MUST stop plucking, bleaching, or waxing hair for several weeks for laser to be optimally effective.

How many treatments will I need?

Hair grows in cycles. The laser is only effective on hair in its actively growing cycle. At any one time there will only be certain hairs in that growing phase. This means that consistent treatments at appropriate intervals are absolutely necessary for the best possible results. The number of treatments required depends upon your skin, hair coloring, coarseness of the hair and density per treated area. The laser hair removal system causes permanent reduction in the number of hairs growing in an area. Because hair grows in three phases, and each hair goes through these stages independently, it is almost impossible for one laser treatment to permanently reduce all hair in a given area. While individual results may vary, patients typically find they get up to 20% reduction of hair per treatment so it takes 6 or more treatments to get the desired results.

How does laser hair removal compare with other hair removal methods?

Shaving, waxing, and depilatory creams are all temporary methods which must be repeated on a frequent basis. Laser hair removal offers longer lasting, permanent results for your hair removal needs.

    IPL Photofacial

Acne, rosacea, and exposure to environmental pollutions and UV radiation, can lead to inflammation and the production of free radicals in your skin. Ultimately these can lead to scarring, premature aging and even skin cancer.

IPL is highly effective at destroying free radicals and reducing inflammation while rejuvenating the skin. It can be used on the face, neck, chest, shoulders, back, arms and hands to clean and red spots and broken capillaries, evening out skin tone and texture. Desired results usually require multiple treatments. Each treatment takes approximately 30 minutes and requires little to no downtime.

    Fractional Treatment

    What is Fractional Treatment?

You do a lot to look and feel great. Yet, the effects of sun, pollution, stress and fatigue can add up, keeping your skin from looking as good as you feel. With Fractional treatment we can develop a plan tailored to your skin’s individual needs. Fractional treatment is able to precisely treat your skin, using pinpoint laser beams that penetrate beneath the skin’s surface to eliminate old, damaged skin cells. Fractional treatment stimulates the body’s own natural healing process which replaces damaged skin with fresh, glowing, healthy skin. You can expect two levels of results, immediate and progressive. Immediately after initial healing is complete, the surface of your skin will feel softer, look brighter, and tone will start to become even. Progressive results occur over the next 3 to 6 months as the deeper layers of skin continue to heal.

    How does it work?

Think of your skin as a digital photo that is delicately touched up one spot at a time. Fractional treatment, likewise, affects a fraction of tissue at a time with thousands of microscopic laser columns—each just one-tenth the diameter of a hair follicle. Then your body takes care of the rest. The laser columns stimulate a natural healing process that works from the inside out, replacing damaged tissue with younger, smoother, healthier skin.

    Vein Removal

We offer the latest in the treatment of blue and red vascular lesions. We utilize two separate lasers, the Mediostar XT and the Viridis.

The Mediostar is equipped with a special tip that targets blue veins while the Viridis works on red vessels and vascular lesions. In a process called photocoagulation, the laser delivers a pulse of light that passes through the skin and is absorbed only by the vessel, causing it to close.

The most common areas treated are the legs and face. Spider veins, telangiectasias, hemangiomas and cherry angiomas (red spots) respond well to this treatment. A typical treatment takes approximately 15 to 30 minutes depending on the area begin treated. Treatments are done at 4 to 6 week intervals. Two to three treatments are usually required for optimal results.
